Program Overview

Introduction to the basic fundamentals of young puppy training

8-20 weeks old - $60 per day

20 weeks and older - $75 per day

* Please note that puppies who are not fully vaccinated cannot leave and return without a PCR fecal panel within 3 days of coming back as this puts our other non-vaccinated puppies at risk.

We follow the AKC STAR puppy recommendations. We train in public places to encourage your puppy to be well rounded and respond to his/her training in different environments with multiple distractions. We evaluate each puppy’s personality and never push them outside of their capacity. We take a more nurturing approach through positive reinforcement and praise.

Each puppy is unique in his/her learning styles. Furthermore, each pup differs in how quickly they retain their commands. With this being said, it is very difficult to determine exactly how long it will take for your puppy to grasp the basic fundamentals as well as your specific non-negotiables. We will be able to give a better estimate of expected length of training after one full week of engaging with your puppy. Our trainers are well versed in multiple techniques and will customize your puppy’s protocol per his/her learning style.

We work very closely with each family to encourage continued success and progression following departure. Communication between the puppy and the new family is the utmost for the transition. One of our team members will work with each family individually on the day that the puppy goes home. Additional private sessions may be purchased.

Please note that this training program is designed to introduce your young puppy to the basic fundamentals. This program will not complete your puppy training, it should be utilized as a jump start and a segue into a series of training classes. Our main focus is socialization, confidence and trust building, and a crating schedule that includes sleeping through the night. Housebreaking will be addressed, but it is not a guarantee at this age as your puppy does not know where out is at your home. Your commitment and consistency with the crating schedule provided during pick-up will optimize housebreaking success when you take your new puppy home. It is strongly suggested that you continue to work with a trainer privately or in group classes to further develop and master communication with your canine family member.

Routine Health & Maintenance

All puppies will receive Advantage Multi upon entering our boarding or training program unless the puppy has been under the care of a veterinarian and is up-to-date on the vet recommended de-worming protocol. Advantage Multi is a monthly heartworm, intestinal parasite, and flea prevention. This should protect your puppy from certain intestinal parasites while exploring the outdoors. We will administer it at our cost of $25.

If your puppy needs his/her next vaccination while in our care we will administer it or have our veterinarian administer it at the following cost:  DAPPV $25, DAPPLV $44, Bordetella $15, Rabies $20.

While socializing and outdoor discovery is optimal for your puppy’s confidence and growth, it also exposes him/her to a variety of different bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Although we cannot guarantee that he/she will never pick something-up we can provide early detection and treatment. Weekly fecal samples can be collected and taken to the vet for testing if the owner would like. An In-House combination fecal is $34 per test. A send away comprehensive lab fecal is $47 per test.

A full veterinarian examination can also be performed for dogs who stay longer than one week. An examination runs between $40-65.

We require all puppies who participate in our training program to be covered with medical pet insurance. We offer 30 days free through the American Kennel Club, but if your puppy will be staying longer than 30 days this policy must be extended to cover the duration of their stay. It is strongly recommended that your puppy stay insured for its lifetime. Pet insurance makes veterinary care more affordable for accidents, illness, and unforeseen circumstances.

Lance Animal Hospital in Gainesville, GA provides all of our veterinary care. They can be reached at 770-503-7387 with any questions or concerns.
